Qatar Chamber, Tajikistan Chamber signed MoU to establish joint business council

The Qatar Chamber and the Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the Qatar- Tajikistan Joint Business Council. The MoU was signed at the headquarters of the Qatar Chamber on Sunday, June 25, by HE Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-chairman of the Qatar Chamber, and HE Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, in the presence of HE Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Qatar, Khisrav Sohibzoda.

The establishment of the Joint Business Council aims to facilitate communication between the two parties to increase trade and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries, by providing communication mechanisms between business owners in the two countries, exchanging information on trade and economic cooperation, and enhancing cooperation between the private sector in the two countries in various fields of trade and investment, technology transfer, services, industrial, and other sectors, in addition to encouraging businessmen to participate in exhibitions held in Qatar and Tajikistan.

The signing of the MoU came at the end of the meeting held by HE First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, with HE Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of HE Ambassador of Tajikistan to Qatar. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between both sides and ways to enhance them for the benefit of the economies of the two countries. They also reviewed the investment climate in the two countries, the available opportunities, and the possibility of enhancing mutual investments and establishing joint projects, whether in Qatar or Tajikistan.

Bin Tawar praised the relations between the two countries, and said that the recent visit of His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to Tajikistan opened new horizons for cooperation between the two countries, which will have a positive impact on the trade and economic sectors and contribute to enhancing trade and investment exchange.

He explained that the Qatar Chamber encourages Qatari businessmen to invest in Tajikistan as a promising destination for investment due to the feasible investment opportunities available there. Bin Tawar called on Qatari and Tajik business owners to benefit from the developed relations between the two countries and to enhance cooperation between them through establishing partnerships and trade alliances that benefit the economies of the two friendly countries. He also called on Tajik companies to invest in Qatar and benefit from the encouraging business climate, stimulating laws and the abundance of investment opportunities in Qatar.

For his part, HE Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, praised the development of relations between the two countries, pointing out that Tajik companies are interested in entering the Qatari market, as their products are characterized by quality and competitive price, pointing out that the establishment of a joint business council will enhance cooperation between the two sides in various fields. He pointed out that his country will hold a large international investment forum next September, inviting the Qatar Chamber to attend this forum, which will discuss many important economic issues. It will also provide an opportunity for the Qatari side to closely see the investment climate and opportunities in Tajikistan, noting the successful investments of Qatari Diar Company in Tajikistan.
